Ennerdale Water is a serene body of water nestled in the picturesque Lake District National Park in Cumbria, England.

Ennerdale Water, often referred to simply as Ennerdale Lake, is a stunning glacial lake located in the western part of the Lake District National Park in Cumbria, England. It is the most westerly of the major lakes in the region and is renowned for its remote and unspoiled beauty.

The lake is approximately 2.5 miles (4 km) long and half a mile (800 meters) wide, with a depth of up to 150 feet (45 meters). Surrounded by dramatic fells, dense forests, and rugged terrain, Ennerdale Water offers a breathtaking backdrop for outdoor adventures and exploration.

One of the unique features of Ennerdale Lake is its wild and natural character. Unlike some of the other lakes in the Lake District, Ennerdale has no major roads or settlements along its shores, contributing to its sense of seclusion and tranquility. The surrounding Ennerdale Valley is largely undeveloped, with extensive woodlands managed by the Forestry Commission, making it a haven for wildlife and a popular destination for hiking, birdwatching, and nature photography.
